whirlwinds

whirlwinds are what happen to a character lily in timothy findley's the piano man's daughter, and i found myself sliding into lily while i read the book. the heat making me think, i too was descending into some kind of trance, fit. attraction to fire. amorous of ants.

not crazy of course. here i am. so let's try again. we can play quietly at the round tower. i know we can do it. we're taut. and well taught. and i'll have some tone. i'm working on tone. it's kinda like when i got my first ten speed. just cycled around in the gear i brought it home in. gears, knobs with numbers. automatic, standard, stick shift. i can drive any car, so i'm gonna do this. fiddle the knobs. save up for tube amp. my guitar can sing. watch it.

and dave & dan working working so hard, at how to sound quiet and rock all at once. and they did it! the children fell asleep and refused to believe it was alive. a live dan. a live dave. humming beneath them.

so, we'll be humming at the round tower pub. thursday. july 14 & july 21. see ya there. humming and emoting all with good tone. and good tunes.

judy. wait for it. wild daughters. girls on radio. radiowaves. trapped in a lazy heart. everyone's gone mad. slipping away. garbage day. ten second sweep.
